Pool Sweep

Don't let the name fool you, a pool sweep is just another name for an automatic pool cleaner, and there is no physical labor such as sweeping involved.

Pool sweeps are known as pressure side or pressure style cleaners. The reason for this is that they attach to the pressure side, or return side, of your circulation system. The pool sweeps are powered by the water that is pumped back into the pool. Pool sweeps can be attached to an existing port, or they can have a dedicated cleaner line. The sweeps with their own lines come with a booster pump.

Pool sweeps can be used in virtually any type of pool. Theses cleaners can easily pick up any kind of debris, which then goes into a filter bag. Once the filter bag is full, you just need to empty it out. An advantage of pressure pool cleaners is that the cleaner will still carry on working even if the filter bag is full by loosening up the debris in the pool. The only difference is that the filter won't be able to hold any more of the debris.

In summer the pool sweep should be used for about three or four hours a day to maintain the pool's cleanliness, and in winter it should be used for about two to three hours a day. The pool sweep should be started at least an hour after the pool pump has started, and should be switched off at least an hour before the pool pump switches off.

Polaris® produces a wide range of good quality pool sweeps. The Vac-Sweep 380 Polaris® Pool Cleaner is very durable. This pool sweep operates off a ¾ HP booster pump which is very powerful. The booster pump allows the pool sweep to work independently of the pool's system. The Vac-Sweep 165 Polaris® Pool Cleaner is affordable and easy to use. This dependable sweep is made for in-ground pools with vinyl, tile ad fiberglass surfaces. This sweep vacuums the bottom of the pool, and sweeps the sides. The Turtle Design Polaris® 65 Pool Cleaner uses pressure from the pool's water return outlet. This allows the skimmer to operate freely. This pool sweep takes just one and a half to three hours to clean your entire pool, the floor and walls.

It comes with an easy to empty filter bag. The 360 Polaris® Pool Cleaner is a high performance pool sweep. This cleaner uses its own booster pump rather than relying on the pool's water pressure. The skimmer operates freely as the pool sweep works from the water return line. While a good quality pool sweep will go a long way in keeping you pool clean and sparkling there are some other points you need to keep in mind when caring for your pool. The water in the pool needs to be filtered There are various factors that affect how much a pool needs to be filtered. There are also various chemicals that are used in pools to keep them clean and healthy. But a good start to having a clean pool is to buy yourself a good quality pool sweep.

Enjoy swimming!
